More than 80% of websites today are not valid. What does this mean? This means your website probably does not comply with web stanadards. A valid website is one which conforms to world-wide quality standards set by W3C.
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C for short) is led by Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the world wide web.
